Just Around the Corner

It's just about to happen! A Wedding Invitation, my fourth stand-alone contemporary novel, is going to be released by Bethany House this October! In honor of its publication, I thought this was a good time to talk about weddings.

Do you like attending weddings? How many do you get invited to each year? Did you watch Will and Kate marry this past April? What did you like best about viewing a telecasted wedding as opposed to physically being there?

Comment below about weddings----the wonderful, the bizarre, the quaint, and the sweet.

I invite you also to talk about wedding invitations you've received. And, of course, I invite you to read A Wedding Invitation.

I love to attend weddings but we don't go to very many as we aren't inivited to too many!

It's funny to me how now they have "save the date" cards before the invitation, something we didn't do just 10 years ago when we were married.

I look forward to reading your book!

Thanks for your comment. I haven't received a Save the Date card yet for any wedding . . . Hmmm . . . must be missing out!

Hi Alice!!!
You have been on my mind throughout this week...so I decided to check in on you! And I must say that I am THRILLED to see the new book coming soon!!! I can't wait!!!

You've got to love weddings! And yes,I watched the royal wedding. Wow.

Three of our four daughters are married, so we have experienced the exitement, jitters, seemingly endless decision making, pocketbook emptying, and satisfaction of lovely weddings coming off without a hitch...well, those little things are easily forgotten. :) We have delightful memories of giggly girlfriends, yummy cake, funny picture poses, and the joining of those in love!

Thanks for the prompting for me to take a moment and reflect...and smile.

You're good at doing that!
Hugs

Hi, Alice,

Sweet book cover...captures the romance, innocence and enthusiasm of a wedding. As a "newlywed" couple, celebrating 7 years this month, I remember designing our own invitations which we scanned and have as part of a slideshow screensaver. Not too sentimental, huh?

Best of everything on your new release. You have a lovely way of capturing gentle spirits in your writing.

I adore weddings and all things related to weddings! I have been a wedding coordinator for - more years than I care to admit to - and have stories that will surprise you and stories that will make you teary-eyed.

Thanks, Edwina! I have a friend who is a wedding coordinator here in town. Her stories are fascinating as I am sure yours are!

Alice, I love your new cover--beautiful and intriguing with those eyes!
My son is getting married in September and I'm going with his bride-to-be-today to wedding dress shop.
I LOVE weddings. Since my children are in their early twenties we've gone to a few these past couple of years.
Can't wait to read the new book. I loved Hatteras Girl.

Thanks, Lindi! The cover of my book is growing on me. (I am not a fan of faces on covers, but my editor says they sell.) Hope you had fun shopping!
